Liberty Industrial’s WHS Training Program Highly Commended at the National Safety Awards of Excellence
The award is in recognition of Liberty Industrial’s WHS training initiative which included the development and implementation of comprehensive Oxy Cutting and Excavator Operator training packages that provide a formal career pathway in the demolition and remediation industry.
In Australia there is no nationally accredited training program for the high risk oxy cutting skill set required in the industrial demolition industry so Liberty Industrial embarked on developing its own training program to safely introduce untrained personnel into the demolition and remediation work environment.
A significant commitment of resources and capital has been invested to support the program, including state-of-the-art Volvo excavator operator simulation technology that travels between Liberty Industrial project sites in a purpose built trailer unit that has been converted into a mobile training centre.
Liberty Industrial’s General Manager, David Wood, praised Liberty Industrial’s Health and Safety team for their achievement.
“Congratulations to Liberty Industrial’s dedicated Health and Safety team and well done to Liberty Industrial’s National HSEQ Manager John Harris who has been steering this initiative.”
“It’s great to see Liberty Industrial recognised for Workplace Health and Safety, an element at the core of our business and our absolute highest priority.”
